Rev. Jordan Gibbs hails from Columbia, South Carolina. He is the son of Michael and Davita Gibbs, and the proud grandson of David and Martha Hopkins of Columbia, SC, and the late Deacon William Gibbs and Joan Gibbs of Charleston, SC. Those who have known him since childhood will tell you that there has always been an anointing on his life. Long before he ever stood in a pulpit, his love for God was clear. Even as a small child, he was already walking faithfully with the Lord, and over the years, that faith has only grown stronger.

At just thirteen years old, on February 26, 2023, Rev. Gibbs preached his initial sermon and was licensed to preach at Red Hill Baptist Church in Gadsden, SC, under the leadership of the Rev. Donnie C. Chambers. Three years later, on October 15, 2026, he was ordained to the gospel ministry by the Wateree Baptist Association Upper Division of Hopkins, South Carolina.

Rev. Gibbs is a young man after God’s own heart, faithfully serving God’s people, both the young and the young at heart. Whether he is speaking to a room of children and youth or a congregation of seasoned saints, he preaches and teaches with a mission to see hearts transformed by the Word of God. Beyond preaching, Rev. Gibbs ministers through music, serving as the devoted drummer for the Red Hill Baptist Church youth ministry.

Outside the pulpit, Rev. Gibbs is a junior at Westwood High School in Blythewood, SC, and a student in the Westwood High School Scholars of Academic Rigor Honors Academy, where he maintains a 4.7 GPA while taking five college-level Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Continuing his focus on technology, he remains engaged in his study of cybersecurity, building on the strong foundation he developed in the Studio D Magnet Program, modeled after Stanford University’s “d.school”. His commitment to academic excellence and his drive to take on collegiate-level work reflect his ambition to excel in high school and in every endeavor ahead.

Through it all, Rev. Gibbs stays humble and grounded in his faith. He lives by a simple reminder: “God gave you the gift of 86,400 seconds today; have you used one to say thank you?” His guiding scripture, Proverbs 3:5-6, shapes his every step: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
